Christmas is (Still) Here

Guys, I’m more on board now with moving Christmas a week or two behind than ever. While all the stores have moved on to Valentines Day decor and cards, I am still scavenging through their Christmas Clearance sections. There’s no way I am spending $10 on a gingerbread house but I will spend a little fraction of that when it’s on clearance.

It’s not that I don’t have the $10- I am just too cheap and practical to spend it. It’s just as good doing it today as it would have been a month ago. This thing didn’t even last one hour. As quickly as it was built it was demolished. No thanks.

The weather has really warmed up again and like I said, everything Valentines related is already up….nooooooo.

I still want to extend winter and Christmas time.

I leave you with my favorite Christmas video mashup. I am embarrassed to tell you how many times I have watched this, but it makes me laugh every.single.time.

Robinson Curriculum and Tablets- The Struggle is REAL!

The Robinson Curriculum has a few rules, one of them being NO SCREEN TIME.

In this video I share my thoughts on it and how some Christmas gifts are making me consider bending that rule. Affiliate link below the video. Let me know in the comments below, what you do you think about kid tablets?

Today I wanted to share about some of the gifts we receive and gave our children for Christmas. We gave them some a few fun toys too and a couple kids got new bikes, but a lot of them were shared educational toys.

I know I have talked about some of these toys before, but I wanted to give you a real look at them as well as sharing some tips.

Merry Christmas Eve 2017

camera-021.jpg

I did my best here to try to take a family photo. Unfortunately Joe had to work but he was off the prior 3 days and he will be off tomorrow, work one day then off for four, so I can’t complain.

We have watched a couple of cheesy old holiday movies this season and we always joke how we are just not sappy like that. He gets up at 4am for work and it’s very rare I will get up with him at that tim, but I do like to leave him little notes when I remember by the coffee machine. This was my cheesy attempt at one of the corny one liners from a movie. He is really not digging the house we are in lately so it made me laugh.

Tonight on our way home from church, as we were pulling up to our driveway we passed a cop with a riffle pointed at the door of our neighbor 2 doors down. Lovely! Somebody is having a bad Christmas Eve.

We heard two great sermons today. In the a.m it was a Christmas sermon like I have never heard preached before and in the p.m service it just made me realize how special it is to be apart of this church. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

I wish you a Merry Christmas, and remember the best gift of all is Eternal Life.
