I’ve been listening to the audio book of Michael Hyatt- Your Best Year Ever. It has given me in great details, tools on how to better set goals and follow through.
Your Best Year Ever: A 5-Step Plan for Achieving Your Most Important Goals
Here are 3 Tips to help you, before I share my own-
- There are 7 areas in everyone’s life that need harmony. If one is severely lacking, chances are you wont have ultimate success in others. Sometimes you need to take a break on goals in one area to fix a problem in another. Once that is accomplished, you can soar in the others. The 7 areas include, Health, Family, Business, Financial, Recreation, Spiritual. Setting goals in ALL of those areas, will ensure your best year ever!
- When thinking about your goals, to better achieve them think about what kind of time release you need on them. Is is frequency (Run 3 times a week for 15 minutes), or time sensitive (run a 10k before April 1st)?
- HERE is a PDF to get your started with some ideas in all the categories listed above. This is what I used to help form mine.
My Personal Goals for 2018
Lose 15 lbs by June 16th (my 36th birthday) using Weight Watchers.
Exercise for 20 minutes every day alternating from cardio to strength training.
Go to bed no later than 10pm and wake up at 5am. Do computer work from 5am-7am NOT late at night.
Schedule appointments with Neurologist, Cardiologist, and OBGYN, by March 1st.
Floss every day.
Lead the kids in a fun workout once a week.
Carry a water bottle, keep it full and drink it frequently.
Interview Kids every Birthday to Save Video
Ask each child to pick one dream for 2018 and work on it together.
Pick one child to cook with me all day.
Keep a notebook from the dollar tree for each kid and write in them once a month. A letter from me to them beginning March 1st.
Schedule with Joe each month, a weekend to go out of town and do something more adventurous and outdoorsy beginning March 1st.
Turn down all the kids bed each night and read a bedtime story and pray with them.
Play 10 min a day at a minimum with the kids.
Pick a board game to play at least once a week on Friday nights.
Fill out a Gnome on the Roam adventure page once a month.
Downsize as we move to a smaller space and become more of a minimalist family.
Clean Van with Kids every Tuesday afternoon.
Do one special thing for every Birthday and Holiday.
Work on one skill from Keepers at Home, Contenders for the Faith once a month, starting in June.
Pick out 1 book to read together each month and discuss at the end of the month.
Handwrite a note every Monday, for 52 weeks, beginning on March 1st.
Write a list of your spouse’s favorite qualities. Read it once daily, and pick one
to focus on for the day for 7 days.
Pray with your spouse. Set aside regular time each week beginning March 1st.
Create a prayer list together in advance and pray about those things together.
Plan our individual 24 hour getaways in town. Where each person can say overnight at a hotel alone to recharge. Plan by June 1st.
Launch new Patreon Page for Meek yet Chick by February 1st
Send a new proposal/business plan for Sponsored Posts, 1 per month.
Legally incorporate “Our House” and keep track of financial records.
Set up Meek yet Chic as Non-Profit.
Plan my 1st Women’s Even by April 1st. (Free clothing, church materials and free coaching at Mesa Dobson Ranch Library) Hold this event 2x a year.
Write 5 pages a day for my book starting April 15th
Start Podcast with Joe on Blog Talk Radio by April 1st and record once a month.
Work on Email List once a week, every Tuesday Morning.
Read 5 business books each month.
Reduce eating out to 1 meals each week.
Keep a certain amount in my personal bank account at all times.
Open a separate business account for business purposes By July 1st.
Re-evaluate Ebay goals. Sell things that don’t take a lot of storage space.
Plan for a cruise vacation in 2018.
Have a family over for dinner once a month.
Organize a book club (even if it’s just for one book).
Take pictures every day and learn to improve.
Listen to one audio book every week.
Reach out to someone new at church.
Set aside 15 minutes in the morning, 7 days a week for reading and
praying starting as part of miracle morning routine.
Read the Bible 9 chapters a day.
Keep a daily prayer journal. Start Feb 1st.
Journal at least 15 minutes at the end of each day starting Feb 1st.
