Documenting Delight 7/365

We finally finished “Because of Winn-Dixie” this morning. As a celebration we had egg salad sandwiches for lunch (something from the book) and I let them watch the movie to compare with the book. It was good and my daughter said she would like to read more from the author.

Now that we finished that one, we started this new real aloud that I am *really* excited about! A friend loaned me her copy which I am grateful for because I am developing a book spending problem hehe.

Unbroken (The Young Adult Adaptation): An Olympian’s Journey from Airman to Castaway to Captive

I had a dentist appointment and I did a quick check on the way home and saw there was a field agent job at the Fry’s right across. All I had to do was pick up some organic eggs and take a picture of the eggs and receipts and answer some review questions and my whole purchased was reimbursed with a few extra bucks. There is also a thrift store next door that had 75% off all books so I had to check it out. This is what I picked out and my total cost was $4 so not bad at all!

I was also very excited that my little kid workbooks came in. I am getting everything ready for the school year and this was one of the last pieces.

These books from Rod and Staff are so affordable and fun for the kids.

What are you reading now?

  1. How funny. I literally asked a friend from church to borrow Unbroken since she’s been raving what a good read it is. That’s how we’ll do history this year…read living books 🙂

    1. No way, that is funny! I am reading the young adults version to my kids and they are on the edge of their seats lol. It’s very well written. I’m reading the original since I wanted to learn more about the later part of his life where he got saved etc. Let me know what you think of it!
